The correct mounting of your solar modules is crucial for efficient and safe energy generation when travelling. Solar module mounts for motorhomes have to fulfil special requirements: They should not only securely fix the module, but also optimally deflect the airstream while harmonising with the overall appearance of your vehicle.
The robust design ensures reliable fastening even in adverse weather conditions and while driving. The optimised design minimises air resistance, thereby reducing noise and fuel consumption. How are the solar module brackets installed?
Mounting the bracket is very simple. The module is attached to the retaining spoiler using screws via the holes provided. The mounting spoiler is attached to the roof surface using adhesive only. The set includes two mounting spoilers, each 53 cm long. Installation is quick and easy, even if you don't have any manual experience.
How weather-resistant are the brackets?
The bracket is made of UV, weather and ozone-resistant ASA solid plastic and is therefore ideally suited for long-term outdoor use. The black surface looks elegant and blends in perfectly with dark vehicle roofs or solar modules.
Note on mounting the brackets
To complete your off-grid system for your motorhome or boat, in addition to the solar modules, the charge controller and the bracket spoilers, you also need a roof duct to lay the cables from the outside of the roof into the living area. A large selection of solar charge controllers suitable for your application can be found in the solar charge controller category.
Our roof ducts are UV, weather and water resistant. Fastening material or alternative spoilers and mounting brackets can be found in the fastening material category.
Dekalin Dekasyl MS-5 adhesive is one of the products recommended, tested and approved by the manufacturer for installation. It is available in the colours black and white, as well as in the Dekalin MS-5 adhesive set.
Better performance thanks to optimised rear ventilation of the solar modules
The raised design creates space to the roof surface and thus ensures effective air circulation. This keeps your solar modules cooler and thus ensures a more constant output and better energy yield in direct sunlight.
Aerodynamic shape for quieter travelling
The specially designed surface minimises wind noise while driving and at the same time increases stability - even at higher speeds.
