The Lithium 100Ah / 12V NG SuperPack was developed as a direct replacement for conventional lead-acid batteries and is ideal for new builds, retrofits or conversions in mobile, maritime and industrial applications. Thanks to the well thought-out shape and arrangement of the terminals, it can be easily installed in a wide variety of vehicles - whether in motorhomes, boats, expedition vehicles, workshop lorries, SUVs or food trucks.

Thanks to the integrated Bluthoot, you can monitor the charge status and configure settings via the VictronConnect app. The whole thing is rounded off by an integrated battery management system, an integrated heater for charging at sub-zero temperatures and an on/off switch for safe off-season storage without having to remove the battery. The Lithium SuperPack NG delivers continuous peak power, eliminates the need for bulky battery banks and fits into tight spaces, making a lithium upgrade even easier. The NG SuperPack batteries are extremely easy to install and no additional components are required. The internal safety switch disconnects the batteries in the event of deep discharge, overcharging, too low or too high temperature.

How do I benefit from the built-in battery management system (BMS) in the NG Lithium SuperPack?

The integrated BMS continuously monitors the voltage, current and temperature of the cells and simultaneously balances the cells and provides comprehensive protection for the individual cells. As the central protection level, it ensures that the energy flow remains within the safe operating limits of the battery and the overall system at all times.

As all relevant battery management system functions are already integrated in the device, no external battery management system is required - this reduces the installation effort, saves costs and considerably simplifies the overall system design. This ensures safe, reliable operation and optimum performance over the entire service life of the battery.

Whether you are winter camping in Norway, on ski tours in the Alps or on expeditions through Canada - the integrated heater ensures that your battery remains ready for use at all times, even in freezing conditions. You can use your solar system, operate your auxiliary heating and reliably supply all electrical systems.

What options does the External Feedback Signal (EFS) offer me with the NG Lithium SuperPack?

The SuperPack NG battery has a single-pole M12 connector on a panel at the top that outputs the external feedback signal (EFS). In normal operation, the EFS output is potential-free (0V). When active, it outputs a positive battery voltage (+Vbatt) based on the negative terminal of the battery and can supply up to 250mA.
The EFS connector can be associated with two functions:

• External disconnect signal (EDS)
• External charge signal (ECS)

Although both functions use the same physical EFS output, they differ in terms of their signal behaviour and intended use.

External Disconnect Signal (EDS):
EDS is always enabled and provides an additional layer of system protection. If a current flow is detected when the ATC (Allow To Charge) or ATD (Allow To Discharge) function is inactive, the EFS output generates an alternating square-wave signal.

This state can only occur in rare fault scenarios, for example in the event of a short circuit in electronic switching devices. The internal markings enable such malfunctions to be recognised and allow timely intervention.

EDS is a diagnostic signal and is not intended to directly control relays, lamps or audible alarms. When using EDS, external logic or signal conditioning is required to capture the square wave signal and convert it into a stable control or alarm output.

External charge signal (ECS):
ECS can be enabled in the VictoryConnect app. When activated, a voltage corresponding to the positive battery voltage (+Vbatt) is continuously present at the EFS output - under the following conditions.

ECS is triggered when the configured warning threshold for low SoC (State of Charge ) is reached. The signal remains active as long as the SoC is below the threshold value or a charging current is detected. If the SoC is above the lower SoC threshold and no charging current is detected, the ECS is deactivated.

As ECS provides a stable signal for switching on/off, it can be used directly to:

• Energising a relay coil,
• Triggering a visual or audible alarm,
• Controlling devices with an input for remote on/off switching, such as the Victron BatteryProtect 65A for 12V / 24V, the Victron SmartSolar MPPT 75/15, the Victron Orion XS 1400 charge booster 12V/24V or other devices that have a 12V control input

Indicator light (visual alarm)

An indicator light can be connected to generate a visible alarm during ECS operation. Connect the positive terminal of the light to the EFS signalling pin and the negative terminal to the negative terminal of the battery. The lamp lights up continuously as long as the ECS signal is active.

Direct control of the input for remotely switching an Victron product on/off

The ECS function can be used to control Victron products that have an input for remote on/off switching. It provides an automatic control signal that can be used to enable or disable external devices based on the low SoC threshold.

Parallel connection with the NG Lithium SuperPack

The NG Lithium SuperPack supports the parallel connection of an unlimited number of batteries to increase the total energy capacity. The number of batteries that can be connected in parallel is only limited by the system power. Although there is a maximum system current, there are no restrictions on the total power expansion. The capacity can therefore be increased indefinitely, while the power extension is limited by the maximum system current.

Safety valve (3/4 inch connection)

The battery is equipped with a safety vent, with a 3/4-inch female thread, as a function for connection to a gas venting device. A suitable gasket must be used to ensure proper sealing.

Under extreme fault conditions, such as a serious internal failure or the failure of multiple protection mechanisms, the battery may release gases through its internal safety valve. The 3/4-inch connection is exclusively for the controlled venting of such gases. It must not be blocked, used for cooling or for connecting liquids or other media.
