The Victron VE.Direct to USB interface creates a simple and reliable connection between Victron devices with VE.Direct connection and a computer / laptop with a USB connection or with a GX device such as the Cerbo GX MK2 or the Ekrano GX. Using additional programmes (free to download), it enables convenient reading of device data, configuration or importing of firmware updates directly on the computer - without additional hardware or complex installation.
The interface is compatible with all Victron devices that have a VE.Direct connection, including battery monitors and MPPT solar charge controllers. If you want to connect and configure your Victron devices with VE.Direct connection to your computer via USB, there is no way around this interface.
As a further application, the cable can also be used to connect a fourth device with VE.Direct to the Cerbo GX MK2 or Ekrano GX. Both GX devices have three VE.Direct connections, an additional connection can be realised using this cable. To do this, the cable is plugged into one of the existing USB ports on the Cerbo GX MK2 or Ekrano GX and the VE.Direct device is then connected at the other end.

Connection with battery monitors:
The free BMV-Reader PC application software - in conjunction with the interface cable - displays all current readings, including historical data, on a computer. In addition, the recorded data can be conveniently logged and saved as a CSV file.
Note: The VE.Direkt to USB interface cable is not compatible with the old battery monitors of the BMV600 / BMV602 series, for these monitors you need the RS232 interface cable.
Connection with solar charge controller:
Via the programme mpptprefs programme can be used to change the settings of the MPPT Blue solar charge controller.
USB driver:
Depending on the computer or laptop used, it may be necessary to install a USB driver.
Firmware update:
To import any available update, you can use the VE Power Setup programme.

- Lead/gel/AGM batteries: 2-year manufacturer's warranty
