930Wp balcony solar power system – cutting your electricity bills made easy

EcoFlow STREAM 800W Micro Inverter | 465Wp Solar Panel | Plug-and-play – no electrical installation required | N/A protection

If you’d like to generate and use solar power yourself easily, cost-effectively and with minimal effort, then our 930Wp balcony power plant kit is the perfect solution for you. Whether you want to generate your own solar power at home, in a rented flat, in a holiday home or in a garden shed – this fully ready-to-connect kit provides everything you need to get started straight away, helping you become a little more independent from rising energy prices.

Particularly during the day, when electricity consumption at home is usually low due to work commitments, a balcony power plant can often cover the household’s ‘basic needs’ entirely, meaning that little or no electricity is drawn from the public grid during this time. In addition to the positive impact of generating your own energy in a way that conserves resources, the investment pays for itself over the years.

The set includes two 465Wp solar panels, an EcoFlow STREAM 800W micro-inverter and all the necessary connection cables with plugs – all fully compatible and ready to use straight away. The required overcurrent protection is provided by the EcoFlow micro-inverter. In Germany, the permitted output of balcony power stations is currently limited to 800W.

Features:

  • ready-to-connect kit
  • including an 800W EcoFlow STREAM micro-inverter
  • including 2 x 465Wp bifacial solar panels
  • including connection cable

800W EcoFlow STREAM micro inverter

The EcoFlow STREAM micro inverter with 800W is the perfect all-in-one solution for a compact and efficient balcony power plant. Mounted directly on the solar module or in its immediate vicinity, it converts the direct current generated by one or two connected solar modules, up to 600Wp per module, into 230V alternating current and feeds this directly into the house or flat grid via a simple mains cable, which is simply plugged into a socket - where it is immediately used by all active consumers.

If the power generated is not sufficient, the missing amount of electricity is automatically and seamlessly drawn from the energy supplier via the meter. If the balcony power station produces more than is currently being consumed, the surplus energy flows into the public grid. Particularly during the day, when electricity consumption at home is often low, the balcony power station can often cover the household's basic requirements in full - meaning that little or no electricity needs to be drawn from the public grid during this time.

In addition to the positive effect of the resource-saving self-supply with renewable energy, the investment pays for itself over the years - a convincing start to using your own solar energy without major installation or planning costs.

Features:

  • Direct power feed into the household grid
  • 800W output power
  • 2 MPPT solar charge controllers
  • Up to 600Wp per solar module
  • WLAN, Bluetooth
  • Control & monitoring via EcoFlow app with Eco-AI

  • Protection class IP67, for problem-free outdoor use

  • Integrated PV and AC cables for immediate use
  • Plug & play - no electrical installation required
  • High efficiency, scalable and future-proof
  • 10-year guarantee

Note: Please ensure that the cable length per PV connection is less than 3 metres, i.e. that the micro inverter is not installed further than 3 m away from the solar modules. The housing should also not be touched during operation, as it can reach temperatures of up to 80°C.

EcoFlow STREAM micro inverter withintegrated NA protection in accordance with VDE-AR-N 4105

The N/A protection required by VDE in Germany has been integrated directly into the STREAM micro inverter by EcoFlow, so that you do not need any additional components.

What advantage do I have with the two MPPT trackers in the EcoFlow STREAM micro inverter?

To explain briefly - MPPT stands for Maximum Power Point Tracking, which finds the optimum operating point of the connected modules. The MPPT tracker continuously measures the voltage and current of the solar modules and searches for the optimum power point several times per second. By constantly adjusting the operating voltage, the maximum possible energy is obtained from the sun. This is a great advantage if the two connected modules do not have the same orientation. If one module faces south and the other module faces west, each module is recorded via the EcoFlow micro inverter with its own MPPT tracker. If only one tracker is installed in the micro inverter, a power mix is generated from both modules, which of course does not correspond to the optimum value. Even partial shading on one module does not have a negative effect on the other module due to the separate MPPT tracker.

How do I install my 800W EcoFlow STREAM micro inverter?

Installing your EcoFlow STREAM micro inverter is very easy and can be done in just a few steps thanks to the preconfigured connection cables supplied. Firstly, the solar cables of the installed solar modules are connected to the micro inverter via the MC4-compatible plug connectors.

Select a suitable installation location for the micro inverter that allows easy cable routing from the solar modules and to the house grid. Make sure that the cable length per PV connection is less than 3 metres and securely and stably fasten the micro inverter to the intended mounting surface. Ensure that the device is sufficiently ventilated and cannot be touched during operation (temperatures of up to 80°C).

Connect the micro inverter to a suitable wall socket or a branch circuit breaker. Ensure that the electrical installation complies with the applicable regulations. The Wieland gesis RST20 feed-in wall socket is often used for standard-compliant connection.

Download the EcoFlow app, which is available free of charge in the relevant store, to your smartphone or tablet and follow the instructions in the app to connect your micro inverter. You can then use the app to access the intelligent control and monitoring of your system at any time. You can also see your daily and weekly savings via the app.

Frequently asked questions about balcony power stations (FAQ)

What is a balcony power plant?

A balcony power plant is a small solar system consisting of one or two solar panels and a micro-inverter, which feeds the solar power generated directly into the home’s electrical circuit. The electricity generated is used immediately by active appliances in the household, thereby reducing the amount of electricity purchased from the energy supplier.

Where can I install a balcony solar panel?

A balcony solar power system can be installed in many different places – on a balcony, a patio, along a fence, on the roof of a house or garage, or in the garden. The key is to ensure that the solar panels are installed in a position where they are as free from shade as possible and are optimally oriented towards the sun.

How much electricity does a balcony power plant generate?

This depends on the module output, orientation, tilt angle, potential shading, location and local weather conditions. In Germany, depending on the factors mentioned above, an average of between 850 and 1,200 full-load hours is generally assumed. This means that our balcony solar system can generate up to 960 kWh per year.

How much can I save with a balcony power plant?

The savings depend on your own electricity consumption, the current electricity price and the amount of solar power generated. The investment usually pays for itself within a few years, as the electricity you generate yourself permanently reduces the amount you need to buy from the grid.

What happens if the balcony power plant generates more electricity than I use?

If more electricity is generated than is currently being consumed, the surplus energy is automatically fed into the public grid free of charge.

How difficult is it to install a balcony power plant?

Installation is simple and can be completed in just a few steps. The solar panels are mounted, the cables are connected to the micro-inverter using MC4-compatible connectors, and the micro-inverter is then plugged into a standard mains socket. No specialist electrical knowledge is required.

Is it necessary to replace the meter for balcony solar panels as well?

Yes, if the existing meter is not yet suitable, it must be replaced so that a balcony solar system can be connected; for example, it must be replaced with a bidirectional meter in order to record the electricity fed into the grid (unless this is prevented at all times by a technical device). (Source: Federal Network Agency, As of 18 May 2026)

Is there a special scheme for balcony power stations (plug-in solar devices)?

Special rules for plug-in solar devices:The obligation to replace meters also applies under the special provisions for plug-in solar systems introduced by the Solar Package: Grid operators must explicitly equip the relevant metering points for plug-in solar systems “with a modern metering device, such as a bidirectional meter or a smart metering system” (Section 10a(2) of the Renewable Energy Sources Act). As a special provision for plug-in solar devices up to the above-mentioned power ratings, which are allocated to free-of-charge feed-in, plug-in solar devices may, exceptionally, be connected and operated even before the meter is replaced. In this case, the law stipulates a “presumption” whereby the readings from the previously installed metering technology are temporarily assumed to remain correct, even if the feed-in to the grid is not recorded and the actual consumption figures are occasionally distorted by a “reverse flow” of the readings (Section 10a(3) EEG). (Source: Federal Network Agency, As of 18 May 2026)

Do I need a permit for a balcony solar power system?

Special rules for plug-in solar devices:However, since the amendments to the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) under the Solar Package came into force (16 May 2024), the obligation to notify the grid operator no longer applies to plug-in solar devices (within the above-mentioned power limits where electricity is fed into the grid free of charge). Nevertheless, the system must still be registered in the Federal Network Agency’s market master data register. The grid operator is automatically notified of the system’s location and technical data, as well as the operator’s details. (Source: Federal Network Agency, As of 18 May 2026)
