What are the advantages of the new N-type solar cells?
The N-type solar cells installed in this module - also monocrystalline - outperform conventional P-type cells in several areas. They achieve efficiencies of 25.2 per cent and more, as they can use more wavelengths of light to generate electricity. This results in higher yields, especially in poor light conditions. In addition, N-type cells age more slowly and retain their performance for longer - this means that even after several years, this solar module still works almost exactly as it did on the first day. The better temperature coefficient ensures that the modules also work more efficiently in hot conditions, whereas conventional cells lose a significant amount of power at high temperatures.

Super-flat solar modules with a glass surface optimise solar installation on motorhomes, boats and expedition vehicles. They combine many of the advantages of flexible and framed modules without having to accept their disadvantages.
Accessibility - your roof remains usable
One important advantage is that you can walk on your roof with the super flat module. Especially on motorhome roofs, where satellite systems, air conditioning systems, skylights and roof bonnets are already installed, every square centimetre becomes valuable. The situation is similar on boats: decks must remain accessible for manoeuvring, dropping anchor or mooring, while at the same time solar modules, bimini tops, railing fittings and davits (lifting devices or crane arms) compete for the limited space available. Add to this framed solar panels with their 3-5 cm high aluminium frames and you literally can't put your foot down safely - the roof or deck becomes a tripping hazard. Maintenance work on satellite systems, skylights or nautical equipment becomes a dangerous balancing act.
Thanks to the accessibility of the super-flat solar module (glass surface) and a total height of just 4.2 mm (without junction box), the roof and deck remain easily accessible. Moisture and salt water that creep under the frame cannot evaporate and attack the paint, gelcoat (resin top layer) and material.

When travelling through dense bushes, on forest paths or under low-hanging branches, you will have no worries: Branches cannot get caught under the module, as often happens with framed modules due to the frame. The hardened solar glass on the front is not damaged if branches brush against it - scratches, which would occur with flexible modules with a plastic surface, are ruled out.
The robust glass surface also resists hail, falling nuts, cones or stones that are thrown up during off-road driving. On boats, it protects against flying ropes, shackles or other equipment in rough seas. Flexible modules with their sensitive plastic film would quickly suffer damage here and lose performance.

Super-flat modules blend seamlessly into the roofline and minimise air resistance. This reduces wind noise while driving and lowers fuel consumption compared to framed modules. What do I need to consider when installing super flat solar modules?
Super flat solar modules must be mounted on a firm, straight and rigid surface so that mechanical stresses on the mounting surface are not transferred to the module. They are fixed to the surface using a high-quality adhesive, such as Dekalin MS-5. Holding spoilers, brackets or other fixing materials are not required.
Note: These solar modules are not bendable!
