The main function of a fuse is to protect the main circuit and prevent overcurrent in the event of a short circuit. The 225A mega fuse is designed for system voltages up to 80V DC, so it can be used safely in 12V, 24V and also in 48V battery systems. It is used to protect battery systems, inverters, solar charge controllers, battery chargers, etc.
It can be used, for example, in the Victron Lynx Distributor in the Victron Mega fuse holders.
Note: When selecting the fuse, please note that the continuous current on the fuse should not exceed 80% of the fuse value.

Mega Fuse fuses in the Victron Lynx Distributor
The example below shows a Lynx system consisting of a Lynx Distributor, Lynx Smart BMS and another Lynx Distributor. Together they form a continuous busbar with fused connections for batteries and loads, battery monitor, BMS system and contactor.

Mega Fuse holders with cover
There are various fuse holders available to accommodate one or more fuses individually for your application. All holders shown here are fitted with a cover to protect against contact and damage from the outside.
From left to right, you can see the following holders for Mega fuses: Fuse holder 6-fold for MEGA fuse, Mega fuse holder modular and Mega fuse holder
Mounting on 5-gang and 6-gang busbar
In addition to use in individual fuse holders, several Mega fuses can also be connected to the Victron busbars via the Mega fuse holder modular, so that a common supply line can be used. Depending on the number of fuse holders installed, different loads can then be supplied with power from there using individual fuses. Thanks to the dovetail, the fuse holders can be securely plugged together and are firmly attached to the busbar. Victron currently offers a 5-busbar and a 6-busbar, whereby the 5-busbar has one supply connection and the 6-busbar has two supply connections.
