The number of electrical and electronic devices on board is constantly growing - from navigation devices, radios and mobile phones to numerous other consumers. As these devices are generally designed for 12V, they require a reliable DC-DC converter that provides a stable 12V output voltage in 24V vehicle electrical systems, such as those frequently found in lorries or on boats. With this voltage converter, 12V consumers can also be operated on a 24V battery system without any problems - without having to purchase separate devices for different voltages. At the same time, a stable power supply protects sensitive devices from irreparable damage. The Orion DC-DC converters were developed precisely for this purpose and impress with their high efficiency and comprehensive safety functions.
Connection is extremely simple: the 24V on-board voltage is applied to the input terminals of the Orion DC-DC converter and a stable 12V DC voltage is immediately available at the output terminals.
Thanks to its fanless design, the converter operates completely noiselessly and is equipped with all standard protective circuits. The cable connections are conveniently made using the fast-on blade receptacles supplied. There are also external contact terminals on the front of the device for the optional connection of an external on/off switch.

Orion 24/12-30 DC-DC converter as battery buffer charger
The adjustable voltage output enables individual adjustment of the output voltage (10V to 15V) and thus adaptation to the charging voltage of the 12V battery. This means that it can be used not only as a DC-DC converter, but also as a battery buffer charger - for example to charge a 12V starter or auxiliary battery from a 24V vehicle electrical system. Please note that this is a buffer charger with constant voltage, it is not a fully-fledged battery charger with a charging characteristic.
Parallel connection with the Orion 24/12-30 DC-DC converter
The option of connecting up to five devices in parallel means that the available output current can be significantly increased if required - ideal for applications where a single converter is not sufficient and more power is required. A total output current of up to 150A can be realised.
