What is special about the bifacial design?
The front and back of the solar panel utilise ambient light to generate electricity and thus enable a higher energy yield than with conventional monofacial panels.
What do monofacial, bifacial design and bifacial module mean?
- Monofacial: Solar module with an active front side. Power is generated exclusively on the side facing the sun.
- Bifacial design: Construction with a translucent rear side that additionally utilises reflected ambient light and can therefore support the energy yield without having a fully-fledged second active cell side.
- Bifacial module: Solar module with active solar cells on the front and back, which generates energy on both sides and thus achieves a measurable additional yield.
Depending on the ambient light, this technological advantage leads to an additional yield of up to 45 Wp compared to single-sided modules, as is the case with this module. Every additional beam of light captured helps to charge connected energy storage units more quickly and utilise the available solar energy more efficiently.
How do I achieve maximum energy yield with my 400Wp EcoFlow LIGHTWEIGHT solar module?
By optimising the orientation of your solar module towards the sun. Thanks to the integrated solar angle guide with adjustable stand, optimum positioning is child's play: align the panel by up to 30° in just a few seconds and always catch the maximum amount of sunlight. This intelligent design ensures that you make optimum use of the available energy - from sunrise to sunset.
And all in just three steps:
- Tilt your solar panel so that the sun falls through the transparent cover of the angle aid.
- As soon as the sun shines through the transparent layer, adjust the tilt of your solar panel until the shadow hits the centre of the angle aid.
- Try to get as close as possible to the centre circle. The closer the sunlight angle is to 90°, the higher the solar incidence and the shorter the solar charging time.
How robust is the 400Wp EcoFlow LIGHTWEIGHT solar module?
Whether at the lake, in a surprise rain shower or in use on a boat - thanks to IP68 water protection, the solar panel can also reliably withstand adverse conditions. It is designed to withstand wind, water and intense sunlight while remaining permanently powerful. Made from robust yet flexible materials, the portable solar panel is the ideal companion for life away from the power grid and for travelling of all kinds.

Is the foldable 400Wp EcoFlow LIGHTWEIGHT solar module only suitable for power stations?
No. They are not only suitable for direct charging of power stations with an integrated solar charge controller, but can also be used via a suitable solar charge controller, for example to charge the body battery. The Victron BlueSolar MPPT solar charge controller100/50 or the Victron SmartSolar MPPT solar charge controller 100/50 with Bluetooth are suitable for this purpose, allowing the solar bags to be flexibly integrated into existing 12 or 24 volt electrical systems and also used independently of power stations.
In this way, the foldable solar module can be used flexibly and additionally to charge the body battery, whether for longer downtimes or breaks. The quick and spontaneous set-up means that no fixed installation is required. You can park your vehicle in the shade while the solar bag is positioned in the sun thanks to the connection cable and aligned freely towards the sun. This means that solar energy can be used efficiently even at high temperatures or in limited parking spaces and the charging yield can also be optimised.
Is the foldable 400Wp EcoFlow LIGHTWEIGHT solar module only for travellers?
No. Don't you have a power connection in your garden shed? No problem! In combination with the right power station, you can charge it with the solar module and still enjoy the convenience of 230V appliances just like at home. Two factors determine which devices you can operate and for how long: the storage capacity of the power station (indicates how much energy can be stored) and the output of the integrated inverter (determines which devices can be connected at all). A small 500Wh station is suitable for LED lamps and laptop charging, while a 2000Wh power station can also supply a small fridge, power tools or a coffee machine. You also have the option of utilising the mobility of the Powerstation. For example, you can bring the Powerstation charged from home and top up the power consumption in the garden shed using solar energy.
The possible uses go far beyond the garden shed: in combination with a Powerstation that has an integrated solar charge controller and inverter, completely new areas of application open up. Photographers benefit, for example, when shooting for several days at remote locations - camera batteries, drones and lighting equipment can be recharged directly on site with solar energy without having to rely on external power sources. The combination also proves invaluable in fishing: echo sounders, lighting and electronic aids remain reliably supplied with power on fishing trips lasting several days - even in the most remote waters.
