The Bergstrom OpenAIR mounting kit 40 x 40cm is the ideal mounting solution if you want to replace your existing roof hatch with an OpenAIR 12V roof air conditioner or retrofit an air conditioner if you do not have a roof hatch. Perfectly matched to the Bergstrom OpenAIR roof air conditioning system, it offers a precise fit, stable fastening and all the necessary components for secure and durable ceiling mounting - ideal for converting or retrofitting motorhomes, caravans or expedition vehicles.
If you would like to use your existing 50 x 70 cm roof hatch opening to install the air conditioning system, the 50 x 70 cm installation kit is absolutely essential.
Application note for the 40 x 40 cm mounting kit
Depending on the roof type, the 40 x 40 cm mounting kit offers different application options: For flat roofs with a standard 40 x 40 cm cut-out, it is not absolutely necessary for installing the roof-mounted air conditioning system, but offers additional reinforcement as an option. This is not the case for beaded roofs, which are often found on panel vans.
Here, the 40 x 40 cm installation kit, in combination with the vehicle-specific adapter frame, is required for successful installation.

Can I only use the 40 x 40 cm mounting set for the OpenAIR air conditioning system?
No - the mounting set is suitable for all types of roof superstructures that require a standardised roof opening of 40 x 40 cm. You can use it flexibly - for example for roof hatches for ventilation, skylights for more daylight or roof bonnets for air conditioning and ventilation systems.
Particularly practical: In combination with a suitable, vehicle-specific adapter plate, which can be purchased separately, the mounting set can also be used on corrugated roofs (corrugated or profiled roof surfaces) without any problems. The adapter plate levels out any unevenness and ensures a flat, stable support surface. Alternatively, you can also use the set to retrofit existing 40 x 40 cm roof openings - ideal if you want to install heavier structures or stabilise the existing opening.
This gives you a versatile, stable and secure mounting solution for a wide range of roof structures and vehicle types.
