The Bergstrom OpenAIR Plus 12V is the improved version of the tried-and-tested OpenAIR 12V model and sets new standards in terms of efficiency and comfort. This modern full inverter roof air conditioner has been specially developed for motorhomes, campers and caravans.

The direct connection to your on-board battery offers three advantages: you do not need an additional inverter, there are no conversion losses from 12V DC to 230V AC, and you are completely independent of an external power supply. This makes it ideal for anyone who values comfortable temperatures and fresh air in their vehicle without a shore power connection.

With its flat design of just 20 cm in height, the OpenAIR minimises the additional overall height of your vehicle - ideal for anyone who has to pay attention to the overall height and clearance height in subways. At the same time, the low design ensures improved aerodynamics with lower air resistance and thus reduced fuel consumption. Visually, it also scores points with a discreet, unobtrusive appearance that blends harmoniously into the roofline of your vehicle.

Compared to its predecessor, the new generation offers significantly higher cooling performance with reduced power consumption and even quieter operation. Even when outside temperatures are high, it reliably ensures a pleasant climate in your vehicle. The redesigned indoor unit not only offers a user-friendly 4.5 cm colour touch panel for control and vertical airflow regulation, including an IR remote control, but also stylish LED ambient lighting. Thanks to RGB technology, you can choose from 16 colours and adjust the intensity and hue to suit your personal feel-good atmosphere.

The cooling capacity of this air conditioning system is designed for vehicles up to 7 metres in length. For larger vehicles, it may be necessary to separate individual rooms or areas to ensure sufficient cooling capacity. Alternatively, it is also possible to install a second air conditioning system.

How long you can operate the air conditioning system depends on your current solar system, the available battery capacity and the fan stage used. The manufacturer recommends a battery capacity of at least 100 to 200Ah for use. For orientation, you will find a runtime table in the download area.

Installation instructions for the OpenAIR Plus 12V

The air conditioning system is supplied without a connection cable to the battery. In our shop you will find the OpenAir Installation Kit 8m and the OpenAir Installation Kit 10m to match the OpenAir 12V.
If you would like to use your own battery connection cable, the manufacturer recommends

For vehicles without an existing roof hatch, an opening of 40 x 40cm must be cut into the roof for installation. Important: Depending on the vehicle manufacturer and roof construction (e.g. beaded roof), a special adapter frame and a mounting kit may be required. These components are available separately. The adapter frame is vehicle-specific.

If you want to use your existing 50 x 70 cm roof hatch opening to install the air conditioning system, the 50 x 70 cm installation kit is absolutely essential. It ensures a secure, tight and professional installation.
